Miguel A. D’Arienzo Born in Buenos Aires in 1950. He graduated from the Buenos Aires University of Architecture and from the National School of Fine Arts “Manuel Belgrano”, where he obtained a Drawing Teacher’s Diploma. In 1975 he dedicated himself to his artistic vocation, joining the workshop of Alfredo Martinez Howard. Along with Carlos Alonso, they redefined the tradition of Drawing during the 1960′s, as a result of their education by their common teachers Lino Enea Spilimbergo and Lajos Szalay.
In 1975 he was also supervisor of the University of Belgrano Foundation project, held by Architect Ludovico Copman. After several exhibitions, he obtained the Francisco Romero Fellowship from the Argentine National Fund of Fine Arts and the Ministry of Foreing Relations of Italy. This fellowship allowed him to make a second trip to Europe and to go to the Academia de Roma. At the second University of Rome, he received the Instituto Italo-Latino-american fellowship to carry out a graphic research project about the Italian inmigration to Argentina. He also participated in many different artistic events in the cities of Lucca, Roma, and Acquila at the Expo Bari International in 1989. While in Europe, the Novecento Italiano and particularly Sironi and De Chirico had a great impact on him. In 1991 he participated at the Contemporary Art Fair in London (Olympia).
