Muriel Haerens is a Flemish designer and founder of MU Designs, living between Belgium and Costa Rica. While her background lies in interior design, her work extends into collectible design shaped by a close relationship with natural materials.
For this exhibition, she presents a series of sculptural tables and wall pieces in Guanacaste wood, a tropical hardwood from Costa Rica. Each piece is handcrafted and unique, guided by the natural grain and organic forms of the wood. Balancing function and art, her work highlights the raw beauty and expressive character of the material.
Rooted in both European and tropical contexts, her objects embody a natural, tactile aesthetic where craftsmanship and material take center stage.
